The Process
In 2005, on behalf of the residents of Old Courthouse Road, I submitted the petition to Mayor Seeman and Chairman Connelly requesting traffic calming on our street. Homeowners presented the petition to Transportation and Safety Commission; the Town Council voted and unanimously approved traffic calming on the Town of Vienna portion of Old Courthouse Road.
In Feb 2008, during one of the Tyson’s Task Force meetings, I spoke with Supervisor Hudgins who informed me that traffic calming on Fairfax County side of Old Courthouse Road was closed but she did agree with our challenges and asked me to call Merrily Pierce to re-open the case. We are grateful to Supervisor Hudgins for re-opening the file. We also want to thank Senator Petersen for taking the time and walking Pine Valley Dr with one of our homeowners, Bob Russell and Delegate Shannon for taking the time to listen to our challenges.
